Gotta monetize your historic sites when you can

Flyer Goodness Filed Under:
Even if it means inserting a warm-bean-water franchise to rake in as much money as humanly possible.

Wait...what are those dumplings stuffed with?

Flyer Goodness Filed Under:

Oh, nevermind. Just the innards of a "Crad."

Is there anything that you CAN do in this park?

Flyer Goodness Filed Under:
Apparently not.

Dancers in Fuxing Park

Flyer Goodness Filed Under:
"The Crazy Lady"
Holding the Coca-Cola of Chinese iced drinks, this interesting madam did not dance with a partner to the techno-samba music (with live maraca shaking) this Saturday Afternoon, but instead danced alone, quite happily, with her beloved empty bottle of Red Tea.
"The Hater"
Possessing the look which was the bane of all human existence, she walked among the dancers, dogging each and every one. Especially the "Crazy Lady."

Wednesday Evening Tai Chi

Flyer Goodness Filed Under:

This group meets around 7pm in the plaza next to the sports arena, library, shopping center and supermarket....yet they insist on practicing right outside an office building in an area with a decent amount of foottraffic and bicycles going through. Of all the open space available for skating or relaxing, they choose this. Interesting selection...

First artfully decorated building i've seen yet

Flyer Goodness Filed Under:
Thus far in my experience here, most building facades, especially places of business, are stark, muted, and plain -- even if money is invested in decor, it tends to fall in one of two categories: excessive rainbow neon accents, or ancient/"classic" Chinese architecture. Paintings and murals are absent, although there may be odd and random sculptures about. Graffiti is minimal and sporadic, more often than not resembling Chinese scribbles, poor grammar in english words or phrases, and phone numbers.

Xiada Beach

Flyer Goodness Filed Under:

Parenting in question? Some dad was letting his young son play by the beach. If you look right of the son, you will notice two large sewage pipes.
What. is. this? Seagull, penguin, dinosaur?
He returns to shore after about 90seconds in the water. It is pretty cold, and very windy.

A few too many shops discriminate against height

Flyer Goodness Filed Under:

I've seen at least 3 shops that have around a 4 to 4.5ft doorways -- and inside the ceilings arent much higher either. A cool thing, or an anti-Yao Ming thing; not sure.
